Dohar comes from the Urdu word "Dohrana" which translates to repeating. Dohar implies layers. These luxurious blankets are made by layering 3 sheets of mulmul, an airy, ultra breathable fine Cotton Muslin, once exclusive to royalty.
These soft cotton layers are then hand stitched together using delicate kantha stitches echoing the comfort of an old favourite blanket.
This dohar is created by inserting a layer of flannel between two layers of voile fabric. The soft, textured surface is created by gathering the fabric in bands giving it a soft and luxurious feel.
