Our Handblock printed collection is an ode to the skills & diligence of not just our master artisans but every individual who has dedicated their life to an art.
Here’s taking you behind the scenes to unveil the magic behind the craft.
From Canvas to Block
It all begins with the creation of the exquisite design patterns. Drawing inspirations from our travels and explorations, each motif is hand-sketched and then meticulously carved on wooden blocks by our master artisans. These carefully carved blocks are the heart of handblock printing. Each hand carved wooden blocks preserves the authenticity and uniqueness of the traditional process.
The painting process
Our artisans dip the carved wooden blocks into the vibrant natural dyes and stamp each motif onto the fabric.
A single motif takes multiple stamps of diverse blocks to come to life.
Our craft cluster
Our collection bears the mark of the artisan's hand, making each piece truly one-of-a-kind. We work with a cluster of master artisans in India who have been preserving this heritage craft of Handblock printing since generations.
Every step of the process is hand done in the workshop, from carving the blocks to adorning a plain fabric with the vivvid patterns. Each motif's impression is a testament to their skills and dedication.
The Story of Copper...
Copper is the very first metal we humans worked with, dating back to around 8,000 BCE. From creating robust weaponry, kitchen essentials to exquisite art & decor pieces, this versatile metal has been the symbol of prestige & craftmanship. The creation of copper items involves a meticulous set of processes, mastered by a select few artisans, particularly in the Middle East and India. These master craftsmen have perfected techniques passed through generations. Each step imbues the metal with strength, durability, and intricate beauty not only in its aesthetic appeal but also give copper its unique identity.
Tamra Jal
One of the most celebrated health practices involving copper is the consumption of Tamra Jal, or copper charged water. Ayurveda, the ancient Indian science of wellness, extols the virtues of storing water in copper vessels. This practice allows water to naturally acquire antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-carcinogenic, and anti-inflammatory properties from copper.
Make Tamra Jal:
Wash your Copper vessel well with warm water. Pour water, let it rest for 6-8hours or overnight. Start your day with this elixir.
