A hand beaten Kansa thali platter (11" diameter) that brings traditional Indian metalware into a more contemporary setting. Crafted in Kansa, or bell metal, this piece is designed to move easily between everyday dining, festive hosting and elegant serving.

Its clean, modern form makes it equally suited to serving Indian meals, appetizers, desserts, fruit or decor items, while still retaining the warmth and character of traditional Kansa craftsmanship.

Good to know

  • What is Kansa? Bell metal, an alloy of copper and tin traditionally used for Indian tableware.

  • How can I use it? As a pooja thali, serving platter or presentation piece for everyday meals, festive spreads and entertaining.
  • Natural black residue: Handcrafted Kansa from Odisha may carry a distinctive black residue, a hallmark of the traditional making process. It is food-safe and will gradually fade with use and washing.

  • Care: Hand wash with mild soap and dry straight away. Not for dishwasher or microwave. Kansa develops a natural patina; a gentle polish restores the shine.

Craftsmanship & Creation

What's inside that really matters

Material Integrity

—

Your piece has been made using materials selected for their
sustainability and authenticity. From natural fibres to handcrafted clay and
ethically sourced metals, we choose what feels honest, enduring, and gentle on
the earth. Sustainability isn’t a trend for us — it’s a principle woven into
every stage of creation.

The Craft

—

We are committed to sourcing and
promoting age-old crafts and techniques that have been passed down from
generation to generation. We believe that the value of these crafts lies not
only in their beauty and uniqueness, but also in their ability to connect us
with our cultural heritage and preserve traditional skills.

Our products are crafted by skilled artisans who
use their hands and time-honoured techniques to create pieces that are
one-of-a-kind.

The Intent

—

Each Curate Home piece is designed to elevate simple
rituals. Handmade with purpose, rooted in tradition, and crafted for a more
mindful way of living.

Our intent is not to fill homes with objects, but to enrich them with
stories, textures, and emotions that remind you to live mindfully.
